The place changed ownership for the better. It's no longer called Blue42. I was not a regular previously but the new ownership has definitely stepped up the game. First, the place is huge, with many TV's for your Warriors viewing. Then it is not overcrowded which makes for a pleasant experience. Parking is plentiful given the off-Main location. Did I mention that you can get restaurant quality food at the bar... Try the burgers or the pot-pies. Finally the staff is pleasant and very courteous. Just a classy place that is also very affordable.
Not Blu 42 any longer. Now the chicken pie shop. Owners know what they are doing. However after the NBA final will be shutting down for a month or two to truly change over to more if a restaurant. Has an under 21 license now. Basically they are just carrying on for now until the remodel. But a new chef is creating great stuff.
I went in yesterday evening and sat down at the bar. There were people playing poker, so they seemed open. Waited for 5-10 minutes with no greeting or hello, I'll be with you in a minute. The lady and man working the cash drawer were really busy counting money and didn't seem too concerned about making it. I ended up walking out not k owing if they are actually open for business. Does not seem like good practice. Will not be returning and will also recommend another bar in the immediate area.
First of I went there twice and the food is terrible - that chicken pot pie is dry (gave me a stomach ache). Beer is way overpriced even for the area. And it is still called Blu42, after some rearrangements nothing has changed from the previous ownership/setup its a bunch of sham smoke and mirrors, Check out downtown Walnut Creek off of Main Street so many more better bars and restaurants
Food was great and service was even better! I hear management changed, and the menu will be changing. Really enjoyed my stop under current regime though.
